Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a Lead System Engineer to own the design of chiller and heat pump equipment for the North American portfolio. You will lead cross‑functional teams through a stage‑gate development process, apply DFMEA/DVP&R, manage cost models and drive design for manufacturability and reliability.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 7+ years in industrial HVAC design/manufacturing, experience with HVAC systems, Creo CAD and PLM.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related technical discipline) required.
7+ years of work experience in design or manufacturing of industrial products preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee the project’s design and release of chiller and heat pump equipment and subsystems from concept generation through design deliverables.
Facilitate cross-functional development to translate MRD to PRD and PDD to meet business objectives.
Ensure engineering specs are applied to drive selection and qualification of components.
Lead concept design reviews and drawings reviews for subsystems and system.
Collaborate to create/modify DFMEA and DVP&R for quality and reliability.
Apply best practices to improve project quality, deployment and cost/efficiency.
Partner with manufacturing to incorporate DFM principles into design.
Own product cost models to meet cost requirements.
Collaborate with product management, manufacturing, quality, and project management on requirements and compliance.
Travel domestically 5-10% between Pueblo, CO and La Crosse, WI.
