Job summary

Hussmann seeks a Technician to diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems in supermarkets and cold storage facilities. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, handle refrigerants, and service merchandisers with guidance from a Lead Technician.

In this role, you will read charts, conduct basic electrical troubleshooting, and maintain accurate service documentation while building strong customer relationships. A valid license and EPA 608 certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Must be physically able to walk distances, bend, crouch, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented and highly motivated.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with basic maintenance tasks and hand tools.
• Familiarity with HVAC heating/cooling concepts and basic electrical schematics.
• EPA 608 universal certification.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform prescribed maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained merchandisers with direction from a Lead Technician.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating and air conditioning systems in supermarkets and convenience stores.
• Read and interpret temperature and pressure charts; diagnose issues via basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Safely handle R290 refrigerant and other hazardous materials; maintain truck inventory and paperwork.
• Develop customer relations and clearly communicate equipment malfunctions using proper terminology.
