Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain supermarket refrigeration systems and related HVAC equipment. You will work under a Master or Lead Technician, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, basic electrical skills, and strong customer communication. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, with HVAC-R training preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• HVAC-R technical school degree preferred.
• External candidates: 2 years field experience or 0 years with certification; internal candidates: 1 year as General Laborer with on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems under supervision.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning equipment.
• Maintain truck inventory and complete work tickets and timesheets accurately.
• Read temperature and pressure charts and perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate safe handling of refrigerants and assist with system evacuations when needed.
• Develop customer relations and explain equipment issues clearly to customers.
