Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a Service Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair HVAC/R in supermarkets and cold storage facilities. You will work under a Master or Lead Technician, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting refrigerant systems.

Applicants should have a HS diploma or HVAC-R schooling, 2 years field experience or certification, and EPA 608 certification. A valid driver’s license and willingness to work nights/weekends are required. A company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma/GED.
• HVAC-R technical schooling preferred.
• External candidates: 2 years in the field or 0 years with certification from a technical school.
• Internal candidates: 1 year as a General Laborer with completion of OJT & Skills Assessment.
• EPA 608 universal certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform prescribed, routine maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and merchandisers under direction.
• Assist with preventative maintenance: compressor changes, leak searches, coil washing under supervision.
• Continue knowledge through on-the-job training including new products and service bulletins.
• Complete tickets, timesheets and electronic communication in a thorough, timely manner.
• Demonstrate ability to use a hand-held computer for paperwork and invoicing.
• Maintain and organize truck inventory per guidelines and vehicle maintenance program.
• Identify and use standard trade tools including refrigerant recovery equipment.
• Develop and maintain excellent customer relations and accurately describe equipment issues.
• Service conventional and rack refrigeration systems, walk-ins, and related units.
