Job summary

Adelante Healthcare Center Support Office in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Referrals Coordinator to lead the Referrals department, mentor staff, and ensure smooth patient flow for referrals. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of supervisory or leadership experience in a medical office.
• Minimum six months referral experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and patient management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card for behavioral health locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the Referrals staff.
• Assure efficient patient flow of referrals is maintained.
• Obtain patient information and enter accurately into computer system.
• Obtain prior authorizations and document referrals in the medical record.
• Verify third party payer coverage and billing information-insurance, etc.
• Participate with interviewing and selection of prospective employees.
• Monitor attendance records and coordinate vacation scheduling.
• Maintain relationships with insurance plans/AHCCCS representatives and update staff on new developments as needed.
