Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Referral Representative I on a Tue-Sat schedule (1:30 AM–10:00 AM) to manage referral testing, handle customer inquiries, and ensure rapid, accurate reporting of results.

Responsibilities include specimen handling, packaging per IATA rules, and collaborating with clients and vendors to resolve issues. Prior experience in a clinical lab or customer service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one to two years clinical laboratory experience.
• Preferred: Customer service and/or medical background.
• Basic medical terminology applicable to clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, sort and process specimens for shipment to referral laboratories.
• Ensure sample quality and accuracy; identify problems with specimens.
• Prepare specimens and packages for shipment according to IATA regulations.
• Handle all customer inquiries regarding reporting of results and service issues.
• Report laboratory results using established protocols.
• Contact clients to resolve routine medical/technical matters related to patient testing and result reporting.
