Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Referral Representative I to handle internal and external customer contact regarding Referral Testing. This on-site role Monday to Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with potential shift differential and possible annual bonus.

Responsibilities include retrieving and processing specimens, ensuring sample quality, and communicating test results per established protocols, while maintaining HIPAA and CLIA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years clinical laboratory experience.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LIS.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, sort and process specimens for shipment.
• Ensure sample quality and accuracy; identify problems.
• Prepare specimens and packages per IATA regs.
• Handle customer inquiries regarding reporting of results and service.
• Report lab results using established protocols.
• Coordinate with clients and referral vendors.
• Investigate and resolve complex referral testing issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow CLIA/HIPAA requirements.
