Brown University Health is seeking a Referral Specialist to ensure high-quality referral processing and timely scheduling. You will review referrals for accuracy, coordinate with providers and patients, and document all communications in the EHR.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Two years of clinical referral experience required.
• Familiarity with medical records content.
• Spanish speaking strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Knowledge to provide care across the lifespan.

Responsabilités

• Review all incoming referrals for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure patient demographics, insurance, and authorizations are included.
• Communicate with providers/patients regarding insurance coverage.
• Triage referrals to determine need for escalation.
• Maintain documentation in the EHR for referrals.
• Schedule referrals and manage prior authorizations per protocol.
• Monitor referral queues and reporting for quality and timeliness.
• Serve as liaison between patients, providers, and staff.
