Job summary

Brown University Health in Rhode Island is seeking a Referral Coordinator to centralize and streamline routine referrals, build a trained staff, and ensure timely processing within 48 hours across in-network providers.

You will manage referrals in eCW for all sites, obtain prior authorizations as needed, schedule appointments, inform patients, track responses, and document outcomes while upholding Brown Medicine values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years experience in a medical office setting.
• 1–3 years experience with referrals.
• E-clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• ManageReferral beans in eCW for all sites, both Primary and Specialty Care.
• Acquire prior authorization for referrals as needed.
• Ensure Referral is received and reviewed.
• Schedule referral appointment for patient.
• Communicate with patient regarding referral details and what to bring.
• Track referral response.
• Document secondary referrals if indicated.
• Attach/Scan Consult Note(s) to medical record.
• Close referral when completed.
