Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Referral Support Clerk to assist with chart preparation, QA, and HIPAA-compliant chart audits across a busy clinic. You will support referral and VA authorization processes, ensure accurate records, and provide timely information to physicians and nursing staff.

The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team while maintaining professionalism with patients and providers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous clinic or medical office experience preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Familiarity with office equipment (fax machine, copier, etc).
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with patients, providers and other employees.
• Professional telephone skills.
• CPR Certified (obtain upon employment)

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient charts are complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Maintains medical chart security and HIPAA compliance.
• Provides organized information to providers upon immediate request.
• Completes Quality Assurance duties to include chart audits, gap closures, letters and scanning as required.
• Support referral and VA authorization processes.
• Uses tact in dealing with patients, physicians, and other professional inquiries.
• Obtains and delivers medical information to nursing staff prior to patient appointments as requested.
• Researches and delivers various types of information sought by physicians for continuity of care.
• Provides office support to all physicians as needed.
• Demonstrates appropriateness in meeting objectives in age-specifics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
