Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Medical Assistant to support licensed providers in clinic and surgical settings, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and preparing examination rooms.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, recording medical history, assisting during exams, administering medications as directed, collecting specimens, and maintaining accurate patient records. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA is required.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications.

• Ability to follow verbal & written instructions with proper grammar and spelling.
• Interpersonal skills to support customer service and team work.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic to intermediate computer operation; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed providers during exams and procedures in clinic and surgical settings.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and record vital signs, weight, and height.
• Prepare treatment rooms, maintain sterile fields, and ensure proper consent forms.Administer medications as directed by a physician following safety protocols.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, and test results in patient records.
• Collect blood or other specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Assist physicians during procedures and provide instruments or materials as needed.
• Handle prescription refills under provider direction and communicate with pharmacies.
