Job summary

Medix Infusion is seeking a dedicated Medical Intake Coordinator to facilitate the timely evaluation and acceptance of patients referred for service. You will coordinate with referral sources, patients, and multiple departments to ensure a seamless intake experience.

In this role you will document in the EMR, manage referrals, stay updated on reimbursement policies, and assist with the orientation and training of new staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred minimum of two years in healthcare referral data collection.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance.
• Strong organizational skills for fast-paced environment.
• Healthcare infusion experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for staff, vendors, and patients.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Proficient with company email and Microsoft Office tools.
• Competent in payroll software for time, attendance, benefits, pay statements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Document timely and accurate information in the EMR system.
• Coordinate patient care with home health, pharmacy, and insurance teams.
• Obtain documentation for timely referral processing from medical providers.
• Maintain knowledge of reimbursement policies.
• Communicate referral status with patients and provide timely updates.
• Enter referral information promptly in the EMR system.
• Complete follow-up tasks as assigned.
• Attend departmental meetings and trainings as requested.
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff.
• Assist with the orientation and training of new staff.
• Demonstrate courteous, compassionate, and professional behavior at all times.
• Proficiently use Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
