Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee is seeking a Criminal Justice Community Specialist to support individuals transitioning from incarceration to shelter. You will provide case management, discharge planning, and compliance monitoring while coordinating with parole, probation, DHS, and community partners.

This role emphasizes stable reintegration, opportunities for housing and employment, and adherence to Good Neighbor policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field with relevant experience in CJ system.
• High School Diploma or GED and several years of relevant CJ experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate discharge planning for individuals transitioning from prisons or jails into BRC programs.
• Provide case management for clients involved with the criminal justice system.
• Collaborate with parole, probation, and other CJ agencies to support compliance and reintegration.
• Monitor and track clients subject to sex offender registration requirements.
• Prepare weekly reports on CJ and sex offender populations and client status.
• Maintain accurate case notes and ensure confidentiality in communications.
