Job summary

The Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF) seeks a Peer Support Specialist (Reentry) to help residents address housing, benefits, transportation, healthcare, and family reunification barriers. You will coordinate community resources and craft individualized reentry plans under the Reentry Manager, contributing to rehabilitation and successful reintegration.

Qualifications

• Certification or ability to obtain Peer Support Specialist Certification within 90 days from hire.
• Lived experience in navigating barriers related to incarceration, recovery, and/or involvement in the criminal justice system.
• Experience with justice-involved, underserved, or high-barrier populations preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and database management systems.
• Ability to maintain ethical boundaries aligning with Peer Support guidelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of community-based corrections and therapeutic alliance preferred.
• Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions to improve outcomes.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

• Assist residents with individualized reentry planning and coordinating community resources.
• Help residents develop practical plans to support long-term success after program completion.
• Support rehabilitation and reintegration efforts while ensuring compliance with rules and procedures.
