Job summary

US Foods in Marrero, LA is seeking a full-time Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician to maintain our diesel-powered fleet and perform preventive maintenance in accordance with DOT standards.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, completing repairs, documenting work in the fleet system, and mentoring others as needed. Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience and TK/Carrier certifications are required; travel for training may be required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
• TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
• Willingness to travel for training provided by US Foods.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency for reefer equipment repairs.
• Experience administering PM programs.
• Must furnish own hand tools.
• Readable/writable English for trainings and reporting.
• Basic math skills and ability to read service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls, coordinate with third party vendors and plan actions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety rules/regulations.
• Document repairs using fleet maintenance software tablet.
• Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
• Willingness to take on increased responsibility and certifications.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
