Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician to keep our diesel fleet running safely at our Chalmette maintenance facility. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, and perform preventative maintenance on tractors, trailers, and lift gates in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires 3 years of hands-on experience, DOT-compliant maintenance, and the ability to work Sunday through Thursday 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. Benefits start on day one and uniforms/tools are provided.

Qualifications

Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications required.
Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency related to reefer equipment repairs.
PM program administration experience preferred.
Must furnish own personal hand tools.
Able to read and write legibly and understand service manuals.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
Receive road calls, coordinate with third party vendors and business partners.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment per safety rules and regulations.
Document repairs and parts used in fleet maintenance software.
Backup to other maintenance shop personnel and mentor others.
Willingness to take on increased responsibility and new certificates.
