Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Recycling Center Maintenance Supervisor to lead a technician team in preventive maintenance and repairs of fixed and mobile equipment, while overseeing building and facility upkeep. The role focuses on safe, timely work with coaching and performance oversight.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in maintenance within related industries and at least 1 year of supervisory experience, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in recycling, transportation, disposal or related industries.
• 1+ year of supervisory experience in lead technician or management roles requiring knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA and similar regulations.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians in the maintenance shop, conduct daily debriefs, coach and counsel staff, hire/terminate decisions with HR as needed, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Perform quality control inspections and track issue resolution to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
• Oversee inventory control and ensure budget-compliant purchases of parts and equipment.
• Review and approve expenses within approval levels; escalate larger items to management.
• Oversee complex repair diagnostics and coach staff as needed.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of stationary recycling equipment and vehicle systems to manage preventive and repair work on-site and on-road.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
