Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee a busy maintenance shop. You'll lead a technician team, ensure preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks, containers, and other heavy equipment are performed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include guiding lead technicians, conducting daily shop huddles, managing inventory, scheduling work, and coordinating with management on budget and training to meet safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ASE certifications highly preferred.
• 3 years of experience in maintenance with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in lead technician or management role overseeing safety/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians to perform safe, efficient repairs and maintenance.
• Plan and schedule repair work to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
• Supervise shop operations, conduct daily huddles, coaching and evaluations, and manage hiring decisions with HR.
• Oversee inventory control and budget adherence; approve expenses within scope.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engines, electrical, hydraulics, and HVAC systems for timely repairs.
