Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Recycling Center Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain recycling equipment, HVAC, odor and negative pressure systems, and related machinery to keep operations safe and productive. The role includes preventive maintenance, PLC basics, welding, electrical troubleshooting, and use of diagnostic software to maximize uptime.

Ideal candidates have 1 year in building maintenance and 3 years in manufacturing or distribution, a valid driver's license, and a

Qualifications

1 year of building maintenance experience.
3 years of equipment experience in manufacturing or distribution environment.
Knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems.
Welding or fabrication experience.
PLC programming experience.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and manuals.
Performs repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment, HVAC, and related machinery to maximize safe operations.
Repairs or replaces parts via work orders and documents field service reports.
Overhauls or replaces machine components and worn items.
Communicates with supervisors and operators for problem clarification and preventive techniques.
Troubleshoots and maintains complex electromechanical equipment.
Completes daily consumables report for input in Fleet Management system.
Performs preventive maintenance according to schedules.
May maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, odor and negative pressure systems.
Installs new equipment and coordinates with vendors on maintenance schedules.
Reads and programs simple PLC instructions to support maintenance objectives.
Follows safety policies and performs other duties as assigned.
