Job summary
Republic Services is seeking a Recycling Center Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain recycling equipment, heavy machinery, and trucks. You will handle hydraulic, electrical, and control system repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and document activity in the Dossier fleet system.
The role requires experience with building systems and PLCs, plus a valid driver’s license and a mechanist or trade certificate.
Qualifications
- 1 year minimum building maintenance, HVAC, odor and negative pressure systems experience.
- 3 years minimum on equipment in manufacturing or distribution.
- Knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems.
- Welding/fabrication skills or experience.
- PLC programming experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Mechanical or trade school certificate; electronic diagnostics certificate.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical problems using manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Repair and maintain recycling equipment, heavy machinery and light trucks.
- Perform preventive maintenance per schedules and document in work orders.
- Overhaul or replace machine components and worn items.
- Communicate with supervisors and operators for problem clarification.
