Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Shift Lead for the Material Recycling Facility. You will direct recycling center staff, ensure safety and compliance, and coordinate shift tasks. The role requires supervisory experience, a CDL, and hands-on line operations expertise to improve production and train staff.

Key responsibilities include supervising sorters, conducting daily inspections, and maintaining a clean, safe facility while ensuring regulatory adherence and efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Commercial driver’s license required.
• Equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and professional conduct.
• Good time management and reliability.
• Ability to follow schedules and adapt to challenges.
• Adherence to company safety policies and rules.
• Pride in achieving goals and high-quality work.
• 2+ years as a lead sorter or supervisor.
• Expertise in running the production line.
• Proficient in operating the Harris baler and skid steer.”

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates operational tasks across the recycling center.
• Directs Sorters and staff to meet safety and compliance standards.
• Ensures safety rules are followed and equipment inspected daily.
• Maintains inventory and cleanliness during shift.
• Strives to minimize downtime and train staff for efficiency.
• Identifies material types for sorting (plastic, glass, metal, paper).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
