Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Recycling Center Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain recycling equipment, HVAC and related systems to maximize safe, productive operations. Typical work includes hydraulic, electrical, balers, conveyors and PLC-controlled equipment.

The role requires hands-on experience with building maintenance, manufacturing equipment and diagnostics. Benefits include health and retirement plans, PTO and stock purchase options. On-site position based in the Scottsdale area.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of building maintenance, HVAC, odor and negative pressure systems.
• 3+ years in manufacturing or distribution equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems and related controls.
• Welding or fabrication skills.
• PLC programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools, manuals and experience.
• Perform repairs/maintenance on recycling equipment, heavy equipment and trucks to ensure safe operations.
• Replace parts and document work orders; complete field service reports.
• Overhaul or replace machine components and worn items.
• Communicate with supervisors and operators to clarify problems and discuss preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and maintain complex electromechanical equipment independently.
