Recruiting Coordinator (temp-to-hire possible)
SNELLING is recruiting for a Recruiting Coordinator to support the HR team of a local client. This role begins as a temporary assignment starting as soon as a qualified candidate is identified. There’s a possibility the job will become a full-time position on the client's payroll based on business needs and performance.
About the Role
The Recruiting Coordinator will provide hands-on support for the client's ongoing hiring needs, currently centered on filling 10 field technician openings at locations across the state. You will work independently with minimal day-to-day oversight, learning the processes, taking good notes, trying things out, and coming back with questions when you need guidance. This is an onsite position; remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
- Review candidate responses to job postings on Indeed, reply to applicants, and schedule phone prescreens.
- Conduct phone prescreens with candidates you have not met, asking thoughtful questions and documenting responses clearly.
- Recommend qualified candidates to the HR team for virtual interviews with HR and the hiring location manager.
- Enter candidate information accurately into a detailed background check verification service used for compliance-driven hiring.
- Send and follow up on new-hire onboarding steps in Paycom to keep every hire moving forward.
- Maintain organized, accurate notes and records throughout the hiring process.
Skills and Qualifications
- Professionalism and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort speaking with and asking questions of people you do not know.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to take notes on new material and apply them independently.
- High attention to detail and an understanding of why following every step of a compliance-driven process matters.
- The confidence to ask questions when something is unclear.
- Direct, clear communication style when working with HR team members.
- Comfort working with candidates ranging from entry-level to experienced industry professionals.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant experience in a similar recruiting or prescreening role will also be considered.
- Experience with job board platforms (Indeed), background check systems, or HRIS/payroll platforms (Paycom) is a plus, but not required if you learn quickly.
Compensation and Schedule
- Approximately $19-21 per hour, depending on experience.
- Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., onsite.
- Temporary assignment beginning in November, with potential to continue or convert to a full-time role based on performance and the client's staffing needs.
