Home Instead is seeking an experienced Recruiter to lead caregiver recruiting for our San Luis Obispo County agency. You will manage applications, prescreen, conduct interviews, and guide candidates through pre-employment steps, including background checks and CA registration.

You will build a strong caregiver pipeline, engage candidates by phone/text/email, reactivate past applicants, and partner with onboarding to ensure a smooth transition from applicant to employee.

Home Instead was the first company to bring non-medical senior home care to the world. Locally, we've been helping seniors and their families throughout San Luis Obispo County since 2001.

We're seeking an experienced, relationship-focused Recruiter to lead caregiver recruiting for our growing home care agency. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing applicants from first contact through hire, conducting interviews, maintaining candidate engagement, reactivating past applicants, coordinating hiring requirements, and helping us build a strong pipeline of high-quality caregivers.

We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, stays organized, follows through consistently, and is comfortable communicating with candidates by phone, text, and email. The ideal candidate has experience recruiting, hiring, interviewing and enjoys helping others find meaningful work.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of recruiting, contribute directly to agency growth, and develop professionally as our organization continues to expand.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming caregiver applications and recruiting pipelines.


• Review candidate qualifications and prescreen applicants.


• Conduct phone screens and hiring interviews.


• Maintain timely and consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting process.


• Reactivate qualified applicants from previous months and years.


• Schedule and coordinate candidate interviews.


• Prepare offers and guide candidates through pre-employment requirements, including background checks, TB testing, drug screening, and California Home Care Aide registration.


• Partner with our onboarding and training team to ensure a smooth transition from applicant to employee.


• Track recruiting activity, hiring outcomes, and pipeline performance.


• Identify opportunities to improve candidate engagement, responsiveness, and hiring efficiency.


• Maintain and optimize job postings on Indeed and other recruiting platforms.


• Develop relationships with local colleges, workforce programs, community organizations, and other referral sources to strengthen long-term recruiting efforts.


• Represent Home Instead at job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach opportunities.

Qualifications

Required

• At least 2 years of experience in recruiting, staffing, hiring, workforce development, relationship-building, and talent selection.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain consistent follow-through.


• Comfortable making outbound calls and proactively engaging candidates.


• Strong problem-solving skills and a self-directed work style.


• Proficiency with computers and business software.

Preferred

• Previous recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or high-volume hiring experience.


• Experience recruiting hourly or frontline employees.


• Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruiting software, or CRM platforms.


• Experience developing community partnerships, attending hiring events, or conducting outreach activities.
