Job description

About the position:

This position will be assigned to the Beale Pools, Beale AFB, CA. This is a temporary position, not to exceed November 1, 2025. This position is flexible, not guaranteed hours and does not receive benefits. This position has physical lifting requirements which require the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.

During the announcement, applications will be pulled and reviewed for consideration every 1st and 15th of the month.

Duties

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities at a designated pool. Serves as lead lifeguard and performs lifeguard duties. Oversees pool operations, maintains order, and enforces established rules of safety and behavior. Inspects and sets up facilities for scheduled activities, i.e. open swim, swim lessons, water aerobics, scuba classes, pool parties, lap swim, etc. Ensures the facility is opened at the scheduled times with adequate staffing. Cleans and maintains swimming facilities and ensures hourly chemical checks are conducted and documented. Establishes and monitors work schedules and provides on-the-job training to new employees. Resolves routine complaints with minimal impact to the activity and refers more complex or unique situations to the supervisor. May be assigned to perform swim instruction duties as needed if certified.

Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• This position has physical lifting requirements which require the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• The position requires the following certifications: American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, American Red Cross Basic First-Aid, and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training.
• This position requires practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures as well as pool safety and pool maintenance requirements.
• This is a temporary position, not to exceed 1-Nov-2025.
