**Job Description**

The Recreation Worker I will act as a lead in personal interpretation of cultural, historical, and natural resources while providing support to guests in an outdoor environment. Responsibilities may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

**Long Description**

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position is $17.45. This is Aramark's good faith estimate of the compensation as of the time of posting.

The position has no fixed application window and will close once a qualified candidate is selected. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered in accordance with applicable laws, including Fair Chance Ordinances.

**Job Responsibilities**

  1. Lead guests on organized and educational excursions.
  2. Provide leadership and training for level I & II guides.
  3. Greet guests and provide safety and equipment orientation.
  4. Adhere to safety policies and ensure guide compliance with operations manual and contracts.
  5. Be familiar with MSDS sheets and use this information when necessary.
  6. Test communications equipment prior to operation.
  7. Provide knowledgeable support and reassurance to clients.
  8. Educate oneself on local ecology, geology, history, and culture to effectively inform guests.
  9. Provide interpretation in various settings and engage visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
  10. Follow cash handling policies and ensure security of assets.
  11. Maintain a safe work environment through daily maintenance and housekeeping.
  12. Work in conditions involving exposure to elements and extreme temperatures.
  13. Deliver excellent customer service with a positive attitude.

**Qualifications**

  1. Training in First Aid protocols such as Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness EMT, or EMT/Paramedic preferred.
  2. Multilingual skills are a plus.
  3. Extensive guiding experience in similar environments.
  4. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for varied durations.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Availability for flexible hours.
  7. Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
