**Job Description**

The Recreation Worker I will act as a lead in personal interpretation of cultural, historical, and natural resources while providing support to guests in an outdoor environment. Responsibilities may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

**Long Description**

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position is $17.95. This is Aramark's good faith estimate of the compensation as of the posting date.

**Job Responsibilities**

  1. Lead guests on organized and educational excursions.
  2. Provide leadership and training for level I & II guides.
  3. Greet guests and provide safety and equipment orientation.
  4. Adhere to safety policies to ensure guest safety.
  5. Ensure guides comply with operations manual and contracts.
  6. Be familiar with MSDS sheets and use this information when necessary.
  7. Test communication equipment prior to use.
  8. Provide knowledgeable guidance, support, and reassurance to clients.
  9. Educate oneself on local ecology, geology, history, and culture to answer guest questions.
  10. Provide interpretation in various settings and engage visitors of all ages.
  11. Follow cash handling policies and ensure security of assets.
  12. Maintain a safe work environment through daily upkeep.
  13. Work in conditions involving exposure to elements and temperature extremes.
  14. Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude.

**Qualifications**

  • Training in First Aid protocols (e.g., Wilderness First Responder, EMT) preferred.
  • Multi-lingual skills are a plus.
  • Extensive guiding experience in similar environments required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Availability for flexible hours.
  • Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking/standing. PPE may be required.
