About the position:

This position will be assigned to the Whiteman Outdoor Pool.

This position is considered flexible. You are guaranteed 0 hours, but could work up to 40 hours per week. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible to earn annual leave or sign up for benefits.

Employee will be eligible for the use of the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, club, swimming pools, and other activities.

Qualifications:

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualification based on education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

• For pool and aquatic center lifeguards: Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training.
• Must have experience that provides practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules, procedures, and skill in their use.
• Maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.
• Ability to lead 3 or more workers to accomplish assignments.
• Experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other processing of cash items, including direct handling of cash and use of cash accountability control methods.
• Satisfactory completion of installation records check and state and national criminal background checks may be required for positions that provide lifesaving duties for children.
