About the position:

This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation (Swimming Pool) at Travis Air Force Base, CA.

This is a temporary position not to exceed December 1, 2025.

Certification training will be provided by Outdoor Recreation.

Intermittent (Flexible) employees have no guaranteed hours but may work up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications:

To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements below. Experience includes paid, unpaid, and volunteer work (e.g., through National Service programs like Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, or other organizations such as professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, or social organizations). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume must clearly describe relevant experience. If education qualifies you for the position, transcripts are required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

• Practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules, and procedures.
• Skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment (desirable).
• Ability to work irregular shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Water Safety Instructor certification is highly desirable.
• Must be able to obtain a current, nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic training and CPR (child and adult).
• Must be at least 16 years old.
