Description

The Recreation Worker I will act as a lead in personal interpretation of cultural, historical, and natural resources while providing support to guests in an outdoor environment. Responsibilities may vary by location based on client requirements and business needs.

Long Description

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position is $17.45. This is Aramark’s good faith estimate of the compensation as of the posting date.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead guests on organized, educational excursions
  • Provide leadership and training for guides
  • Greet guests, provide safety and equipment orientation, and educate about area regulations and safety procedures
  • Ensure safety policies are followed
  • Ensure guide compliance with manuals and contracts
  • Be familiar with MSDS sheets and use this information when necessary
  • Test communication equipment before use
  • Provide knowledgeable support and reassurance to clients
  • Educate oneself on local ecology, geology, history, and culture to answer guest questions
  • Choreograph tours to educate and engage visitors of all ages
  • Follow cash handling policies and ensure security of assets
  • Maintain a safe work environment through daily maintenance and housekeeping
  • Work in conditions involving exposure to elements and extreme temperatures
  • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor

Qualifications
  • Training in First Aid protocols such as Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness EMT, or EMT/Paramedic preferred
  • Multilingual skills are a plus
  • Extensive guiding experience in similar environments
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for varied periods
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours

This role may involve physical demands like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking/standing. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
