Job summary

Community Health Resources (CHR) is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist for the REST Center in Willimantic. This full-time role provides crisis stabilization and recovery-focused care, including assessments, individualized treatment plans, skills coaching, and collaboration with the client’s support network.

You will work Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with a collaborative, trauma-informed team and access to tuition assistance, wellness programs, and staff development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Education: Lived experience establishing and maintaining recovery from mental health or substance use condition(s) as required by position.
• Experience: 2+ years working with identified populations and specifically as a CPSRP preferred; self-identifies as in long term recovery.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPSRP from Advocacy Unlimited, Recovery Coach Certification from CCAR, or equivalent; must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients in identifying and advocating their recovery goals.
• Utilizes program models, including motivational interventions to establish or strengthen recovery strategies.
• Conducts program-specific assessments and screens as indicated.
• Collaborates with clients to create individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
• Conducts skills teaching to assist clients as needed.
• May provide crisis intervention or de-escalation as needed.
• Provides case management and connects clients to prosocial and community resources.
• Intervenes to reduce health care disparities by screening for SDOH and addressing barriers to care.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with agency standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, and training.
