Job summary

Telecare Corporation is seeking a Peer Support Specialist in the San Mateo area to engage with members and support their recovery goals. You will work to promote Telecare’s Recovery Centered Clinical System and provide guidance to the team on person-centered care.

The role emphasizes de-escalation and supportive intervention in crisis situations, with a focus on least restrictive approaches and compassionate care across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
• California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance in your name.

Responsibilities

• Engage, inspire, and facilitate conversations to help members recover goals.
• Provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture.
• Respond to critical situations with de-escalation to support least restrictive environment.
• Support clients and participate in self-help programming.

Skills

Behavioral health experience

Valid driver’s license
