Job summary

Telecare Corporation in Santa Maria, CA is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to engage with members and support recovery goals within Telecare’s RCCS framework. You will provide compassionate conversations, crisis de-escalation, and team consultation, with a full-time day shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday; starting wage is $23.00/hour and geographic differentials apply.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained prior to hire and maintained.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance.
• Willingness to use personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, and to use company vehicle as needed.
• Willingness to attend meetings.

Responsibilities

• Engage, inspire, and facilitate conversations to support recovery goals.
• Provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture and RCCS.
• Respond to critical situations with de-escalation to maintain a least restrictive environment.
