Job summary

Telecare is seeking a qualified Peer Support Specialist to engage, inspire, and support members on their recovery journey at our Santa Clara, California sites. You will provide peer-driven services, promote recovery culture, and assist with crisis de-escalation in a least-restrictive environment.

Full-time, on-site role with days Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Starting wage range is $23.00–$25.76 per hour, plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Geographically varied pay scales apply by location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
• California Medi-Cal Peer Certification through CalMHSA prior to hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care.
• Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
• Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Responsibilities

• Peer Support Specialists engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served that assist the person to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals.
• Provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by RCCS.
• Respond to critical situations with de-escalation skills to support a least restrictive environment.
