Job summary

The Peer Company is seeking a Peer Support Specialist for the Multnomah County Behavioral Health Resource Center in Portland. You will provide peer-led support to individuals facing addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges, helping them develop their own recovery plans and connect with community resources.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will work within a trauma-informed, equity-based framework, ensuring respectful, person-driven care and documentation in program systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Criminal background check will be conducted; record not automatic removal from employment.
• Pre-hire drug screen required.
• Identifies as having lived experience in recovery; 24+ months of sustained recovery with SUD/mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 peer support per program guidelines.
• Develop Person Directed Plans to support recovery journeys.
• Participate in supervision sessions and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Assist participants in connecting to community resources and services.
• Document support services in program databases and maintain compliance.
