Job summary

The Peer Company BHRC Outreach Team in Portland, OR is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to provide field-based peer support to individuals facing homelessness and behavioral health challenges. You will help create PDPs, connect clients with community resources, and support recovery goals.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work outdoors in various weather, travel to partners, and document services in our program database while upholding trauma-informed, equity-centered

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Criminal background check conducted per policy; background does not automatically exclude.
• Pre-hire drug screenings required per policy and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Provides 1:1 peer support to individuals in recovery in the BHRC program.
• Engages participants to develop person-directed recovery plans (PDPs).
• Collaborates with teams to connect participants with resources and services.
• Attends meetings, communicates program objectives, and advocates for participants.
• Documents support services accurately in the program database.
• Maintains professional boundaries and HIPAA compliance.
• Supports participants in crisis and helps identify next steps in recovery.
• Travels to visit community partners and participants as needed.
