Job summary

The Peer Company in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to support individuals in recovery and to help develop person-directed plans that guide their recovery journeys.

You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing a listening, nonjudgmental presence and linking clients with community resources. This role emphasizes trauma‑informed care and peer support principles.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted by The Peer Company in accordance with policy; a criminal record does not necessarily exclude employment.
• Pre‑hire drug screening is required for all potential employees.
• Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check may be conducted for driving positions.
• Candidates must have lived experience in recovery and understand trauma‑informed care.
• Certification: Peer Support Specialist or MHACBO CRM required or obtainable within 90 days; valid Oregon Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provides 1:1 peer support to diverse individuals in accordance with The Peer Company values.
• Collaborates with individuals to create Person Directed Plans (PDPs).
• Participates in regular peer support supervision sessions.
• Collaborates with other service providers to support PDPs and recovery journeys.
• Attends meetings to communicate program objectives and advocate for participant needs.
• Implements program policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
