Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to supervise an Inspection Center team, directing daily operations and driving lean processes in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on maintaining high quality and efficient reconditioning, with leadership responsibilities spanning up to 70 frontline associates.

The position requires strong management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing, plus a proven ability to develop talent and hit production metrics.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to meet project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching, leadership development and training.
• Participate in developing and executing strategic plans and goals aligned with the company.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create an environment that encourages positive communication, team cohesion, and Carvana’s values.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Manage production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team to meet performance metrics.
• Reinforce and engage the team on quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
