Job summary

Carvana seeks a Reconditioning Manager to supervise a team within a Carvana Inspection Center, directing 5 leads and up to 70 associates in a lean manufacturing setting. This role focuses on sustaining a culture of continuous improvement while meeting quality, production, and cost objectives.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, coordinating training, and ensuring adherence to standards. This role requires hands-on leadership and capacity planning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to achieve project deliverables and company metrics.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Mentor and develop direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Develop and execute strategic plans, goals, and objectives aligned with the company.
• Ensure adherence to standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that promotes communication, teamwork, and Carvana values.
• Recruit, orient, and train supervisory staff.
• Ensure training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Provide feedback to leads and associates for competency development.
• Ensure adequate production capacity and assist with planning.
• Comply with health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision to meet performance metrics.
• Encourage quality, cost control, and measurable results.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
