Job summary

Carvana in Concord, NC is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to oversee the Inspection Center and direct up to 70 front-line associates in a lean manufacturing environment, ensuring quality, production, and cost objectives.

You will mentor leads, manage training and succession, align plans with company goals, and maintain safety and performance standards in a fast-paced setting. This role requires leadership and hands-on supervision.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans aligning with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that fosters communication, team cohesion, and Carvana values.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, orienting, and training employees.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity and assist with production planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision to the reconditioning team in meeting performance metrics.
• Engage the team to emphasize quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
