Job summary

Ohio Living Breckenridge Village is seeking a Certified Occupancy Specialist to oversee the recertification process for current residents, ensuring compliance with HUD standards and timelines.

You will conduct re-examinations, verify income, handle rent calculations, and support background checks, move-in/out tasks, and notices. A HS diploma is required, certification within 90 days, and multifamily housing knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Occupancy Specialist Certification within 90 days of employment, if not currently certified.
• Associate’s degree in public service, business administration, or related field preferred.
• Two years of experience in multifamily housing preferred.
• Working knowledge of HUD multifamily housing laws, rules, and regulations.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains organization of all phases of the recertification process, deadlines.
• Conducts the re-examination interview, process, and maintains files and correspondence, ensuring proper verification.
• Reviews resident files and verification forms for accuracy and completeness and inputs data into computer systems timely.
• Assists with background checks, move-in and move-out paperwork.
• Answers inquiries concerning policies and practices and explains rent calculation.
• Prepares notices of rent adjustments in accordance with HUD regulations.
• Submits monthly ancillary charges for rent statements.
• Prepares and completes Form HUD-50059 accurately and submits to HUD system.
• All other duties as assigned.
