Job summary

Eastern Michigan University seeks an Assistant Director of Facilities to oversee Rec/IM indoor and outdoor facilities, coordinating rentals and scheduling classes and events on Main Campus. This role collaborates with professional staff to staff events, distribute invoices, and meet program needs from a facilities perspective.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Recreation, Education, University and Student Leadership, Sports/Event Management or related field.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Visio; EMS or similar software.
• Ability to work with internal and external clients to identify needs and provide quality service.
• InnoSoft Fusion Recreation Management Software preferred.
• At least three years in recreation and facility management in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement risk management plans for Rec/IM facilities.
• Coordinate facility operating schedules and rental agreements.
• Assist the Director on operating hours, holidays, and closures.
• Oversee locker room rentals and clean outs.
• Coordinate with university departments and community groups to schedule activities.
• Serve as liaison with Physical Plant for custodial services and repairs.
• Establish preventive maintenance schedules for facilities.
• Develop policies and procedures for Rec/IM operations.
• Plan meetings with rental groups and obtain required paperwork.
• Supervise events onsite and monitor expenditures.
