Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring a commercial waste driver in Texas to operate side-load/rear-load collection trucks on assigned routes. You will load waste or recyclables, compact materials, and complete required route paperwork while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires a Class 3 CDL and at least one year of commercial driving experience. You will work with a team, possibly supervise Helpers, and may be required to overtime to meet route demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Must possess a Class 3 CDL.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience.
• Must be able to meet safety sensitive functions according to company standards.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Commercial Waste / Recycling collection vehicle on the specified route.
• Load waste/recyclables into the vehicle and operate the compaction system.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete daily reports.
• Communicate vehicle issues to supervisor or mechanic promptly.
• Maintain route quality and safety standards; wear PPE at all times.
• Possibly supervise Helpers and assist with routing improvements.
