Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom AG in Chesterfield, Missouri, is hiring a Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator for a full-time 40-hour week. Shifts are 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, Tue–Sat or Sun–Thu, with starting pay of $20.00 per hour.

As a TMC Operator you will monitor traffic with ITS technologies, disseminate traveler information, coordinate incident response, and provide excellent service while collaborating with a team and first responders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; college degree or related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows-based systems and multitasking on a multi-monitor workstation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to type quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with St. Louis-area roadways and geography.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Willingness to work holidays and weekends in a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate ITS technologies to monitor traffic conditions.
• Identify incidents using CCTV, patrol and data sources.
• Dispatch responses to incidents via radio, phone, or systems.
• Input and maintain real-time data and incident records.
• Assist with compiling traffic and incident data for reports.
• Provide traveler information to the public.
• Work with teammates and first responders to keep operations running.
