Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom is seeking a vigilant Traffic Management Center Operator to monitor road conditions, coordinate incident responses, and relay timely information to the public from the Gateway Guide TMC in Chesterfield, MO.

Responsibilities include operating ITS technologies, tracking incidents, dispatching responses, and providing traveler information while ensuring 24/7 operations with a customer-service focus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• College degree or related dispatch/public safety experience preferred.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, 24/7/365 environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor traffic conditions using ITS technologies across a multi-monitor workstation.
• Identify and track incidents and roadway issues from CCTV, reports, and other data sources.
• Coordinate and dispatch responses to roadway incidents via radio, phone, or internal systems.
• Input and manage data in real-time systems, maintaining accurate records of incidents and actions.
• Provide traveler information to the public through signs, websites, and partner agencies.
