Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom is seeking a TMC Dispatcher/Operator for Kansas City Scout in Lee’s Summit, MO. You will monitor traffic via ATMS, operate CCTV and DMS, and coordinate EMS responses to incidents to restore flow efficiently.

Strong communication, data entry, and multi-tasking are essential as you work with police, emergency services, and field crews in a high-volume dispatch environment. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with ability to multi-task.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Ability to enter real-time data and act decisively.
• Dispatch emergency personnel and coordinate with law enforcement.
• Monitor active traffic events and ensure accurate system entries.
• Troubleshoot with IS Technologists and coordinate shift changes.
• Collaborate with other operations staff on agency coordination.
• Assist data collection for reports such as travel speed/time and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Create and post messages for Dynamic Message Signs (DMS).
• View traffic conditions on CCTV.
• Monitor traffic status and incidents using CCTV and reports.
• Communicate with emergency services and media as needed.
