Homes by WestBay, LLC in Florida is seeking a Summer Accounting & Finance Intern to support day-to-day accounting, reporting, and analysis for a residential homebuilder. You will gain exposure to job-cost accounting, budgeting, land and lot accounting, and month-end close.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's in Accounting/Finance with 1–2 years to graduate.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
• Proficient in Excel: PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist month-end close activities: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals.
• Review house/community costs, VPOs, and budget-to-actuals for job-cost accounting.
• Process/vendor invoices, lien waivers, and trade payments with AP.
• Prepare closing packages: settlement statements, home sale revenue, COGS.
• Support community pro formas, land budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
• Provide ad hoc financial analyses for leadership, e.g., margin analysis.
• Assist with audits, internal controls testing, and process documentation.
• Complete capstone project and present findings to leadership.
