Homes by WestBay, LLC is seeking a Human Resources Intern in Riverview, FL to learn construction operations from the ground up. You will shadow Construction Managers, assist with scheduling, site inspections, and safety compliance while gaining hands-on experience with the full build process.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Interest in a career in residential construction and field operations.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk active job sites.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and assist Construction Managers in overseeing the daily construction of single‑family homes and/or townhomes across one or more communities.
• Help schedule, coordinate, and communicate with trade partners and suppliers to keep homes on schedule.
• Conduct quality control walks at key construction stages (pre‑pour, frame, pre‑drywall, final) and document punch items.
• Monitor job‑site safety and cleanliness and help ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Assist with coordinating municipal inspections and tracking inspection results.
• Learn to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and option selections.
• Participate in homebuyer meetings such as pre‑construction, frame walks, and new‑home orientations.
• Use construction scheduling and management software to update schedules and track progress.
• Complete a capstone project (e.g., cycle‑time or quality improvement) and present to leadership.
