Job summary

Homes by WestBay, LLC is offering a Summer Accounting & Finance Internship in Riverview, FL. The intern will support the finance team with day-to-day accounting, reporting, and analysis across job-cost accounting, budgeting, and month-end closing activities.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, reviewing costs, processing invoices, preparing closing packages, and performing ad hoc analyses for division leadership. The internship ends with a capstone project and presentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 1–2 years to graduation.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines; clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations.
• Review job-cost accounting at house and community levels and budgets.
• Process vendor invoices, lien waivers, and trade partner payments.
• Prepare closing packages and record home sale revenue.
• Support pro formas, land budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis for division leadership.
• Assist with internal controls testing and audit requests.
• Complete a capstone project and present findings to leadership.
