Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to help students become stronger readers at local schools. You’ll deliver proven activities, coach students daily for 20-minute sessions, and track progress with an on-site coach. Training is provided, and you’ll join a nationwide AmeriCorps program.

We offer part- and full-time schedules during the 2026-27 school year, with weekday hours aligned to school times. This is a meaningful on-site role supporting student learning and community impact.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email & online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
